Training Starts in 71 Provinces as of February 20

Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer made statements at the Emergency Coordination Center in Malatya.

Some of the headlines from Minister Özer's speech are as follows: “We continue to work on the appointment of apologies by our teachers and administrative staff to other provinces during the earthquake and our teachers coming here from other provinces. We'll share the planning of the repair as of next week. As of February 71, we are starting education in 20 provinces from pre-school to high school. In order for us to normalize life, we must first normalize education. The Ministry of National Education is the universe, not the sample of Turkey. If we contributed to the normalization of Turkey by quickly normalizing the Kovid process with its 20 million students and 1,2 million teachers, I hope we will apply the same experience in this process with the same approach.

Just as we did not make decisions based on provinces and districts during the Kovid process, but made school-based opening and closing, we will apply the same experience in our 10 provinces affected by the earthquake during this earthquake.

Hopefully, we will gradually normalize those tents on the field and transfer them to other regions and provinces in need. Thank you again. We will get through these days quickly.”
