The Ministry of Industry and Technology announced that 4 donation applications were made to the "Let My Home Be Your Home" campaign, which was launched to meet the shelter needs of citizens affected by earthquakes.

The support campaign, announced by Vice President Fuat Oktay, aims to allocate houses that are not used by philanthropists to earthquake victims in a safe manner, for a certain period of time and under certain conditions.

Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank, who introduced the campaign, said that the project was carried out by the state and the people. The Let My Home Be Your Home campaign was founded on three pillars. Helpful citizens can participate in the campaign with "At least 3 months free allocation", "1 year rent with a discounted price" or "Rent support".

At least 3 months free allocation

The applications of those who click on the "I Want to Allocate My House for At least 3 Months Free" button on the evimyuvanolsun.org website will be examined on-site by the district governor's office of the district where the house is located. Houses deemed appropriate by the district governorship will be included in the campaign free of charge. A “Lending Agreement” will be signed between the district governorship and the landlord. The determined earthquake survivor family will be settled in the house by the district governor's office. The 3-month period can be extended to 12 at the request of the helpful host.

One year discounted rent

The applications of those who say "I want to rent my house for 1 year with a discounted price" will also be examined by the district governor's office where the house is located. The District Governorship will look into whether the requested rental price is significantly below the real value of the house.

After the district governor's confirmation of the suitability of the house and the discounted rental price, the house will be included in the campaign. A lease agreement will be signed between the district governorship and the landlord. The determined earthquake victim family is placed in the house by the district governor's office. The rent determined for the house will be covered by the rent donations collected in the AFAD account.

Rental donation

There is also the option "I Want to Provide Rent Support to Earthquake Families" on the website where the campaign is run. The donations collected here will be used for the payments of the houses to be rented at a discount within the scope of the campaign.

How will earthquake victims be selected?

Families of earthquake victims will be determined by AFAD and Ministry of Interior units. Priority will be given to families with disadvantaged individuals such as the disabled, the elderly, those with chronic diseases that require regular treatment, and families with children who have lost family members in the earthquake.

Who will pay the bills?
