The projects of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality that focus on the youth continue. The first of the activities within the scope of Izmir Youth Festival was held in the Buca Hasanağa Garden. Bringing university students together, the festival will continue with Bornova and Çiğli.

The Metropolitan Municipality, which supports young people in many areas from housing to nutrition, from education to cultural activities, organized the first event within the scope of Izmir Youth Festival in Buca. The meeting of Young Izmir in Hasanağa Garden, which was livened up with sports fields, workshops and concerts, witnessed colorful scenes. From barista workshop to tasting stands, from awareness workshop to zumba, the first day ended with Gökhan Akar's concert and Arda Acar's DJ performance. Organized by the Social Projects Department, the festival will continue with meetings in Bornova Büyükpark on October 19 and Çiğli Balatçık Park on October 26.

Speaking at the meeting in the Buca Hasanağa Garden, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Youth Studies Chief Eray Alagözoğlu stated that they also received the demands of the youth in the activities, and said that they received very good feedback and that they would increase such activities.

Student Miray Dindar, who participated in the festival, said, “It is nice to meet and communicate with our friends in this environment. We are trying to create awareness of the city and urbanity about our own workshop. Having our friends with us is very important. We take such organizations very seriously. Student Gül Avanoğlu also stated that the students received the treatment they deserve at the festival: “Today, there are free tastings, coffees, concerts here. We cannot access entertainment due to the economy. I was very pleased that this was done by the municipality. We need motivation. I follow the work of our president. I find many activities to be good. Our President is mobilizing the opportunities for us.”

Student Emrullah Ecer stated that he participated in various projects during his university term and said, “We were involved in İzmir's projects voluntarily. In this festival, everyone set up their own stands under the roof of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. Youth projects are very good, could be even more. The steps taken by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality for young people are very important. As students, we are experiencing difficulties in the economic crisis. It is very good that the Metropolitan Municipality creates food stands, social areas and these are free of charge.”

“We are happy and grateful”

Student Musa Taşdemir, on the other hand, stated that the activities and trainings helped to improve themselves and said, “Free food is a great service. I have cousins ​​and friends who study elsewhere. They say that such municipal services do not exist. We are very happy. We are grateful to our President Tunç.”
