TOKİ Again Goes to Tender for Housing for Kanal Istanbul

TOKİ is going out to tender in September for a total of 2 houses to be built in three stages in Arnavutköy, which is on the Kanal Istanbul route. Last year, TOKİ canceled the housing tenders.

According to the news of Özlem Güvemli from SÖZCÜ; “TOKİ canceled the five-stage housing tender, which it set the date for, at the end of 2021, for the houses to be erected in the Arnavutköy district on the route of the controversial project, Kanal Istanbul.

The reasons for the cancellation were explained as "no bidder submitting", "replacing the project area" and "in accordance with the principle of meeting the needs in a timely manner and using the resources efficiently".

TOKİ made a statement regarding the controversial tenders since they were made before the title deeds were issued and it was stated that a “Social Housing Project” would be made for low-income people in Arnavutköy, and that the tenders were made by fulfilling all the conditions stipulated by the law.
