The Ministry of National Education Established an Assessment and Evaluation Center with 81

The Ministry of National Education established measurement and evaluation centers in 81 provinces to assist measurement and evaluation activities in schools. The teachers, who will work in the centers equipped with infrastructures such as optical readers, printing machines, and information communication technologies, have completed their training and started working in their units.

Assessment and evaluation centers established in each province will be actively used to coordinate and manage processes for international and national student achievement research such as PISA and TIMSS. Findings and reports from student achievement studies will be shared with school and provincial administrations to improve processes.

In addition, these centers have contributed significantly to the production of auxiliary resources shared with students and teachers for seven months. 36 million supplementary resource books, prepared with the contributions of these centers, were distributed to students free of charge.

Periodic assessments and evaluations for the support and training courses offered free of charge in order to make up for the deficiencies of the students are also carried out by the assessment and evaluation centers in each province.

A question pool of 150 thousand questions was created

A digital question preparation platform was created for the first time by combining assessment and evaluation centers in 81 provinces. Thus, the question generation capacity of the centers in the provinces was increased and it was ensured that the prepared questions could be used in all schools. So far, a question pool of 150 thousand questions has been created on this platform. Trainings for teachers started to be given by measurement and evaluation centers in the provinces.

Making an evaluation on the subject, Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer said: “Our measurement and evaluation centers, which we have established in 81 provinces to strengthen the measurement and evaluation capacity of our Ministry, and where we meet the needs of infrastructure and human resources, contribute actively to all our processes. Our centers, which have many functions, from local assessment and evaluation training at the provincial level to conducting national and international student achievement studies, actively contribute to each of our new projects. These centers also provided very important support in the production of supplementary resource support packages, which our teachers and students followed with interest. In addition, we started to receive and use the contributions of all provinces by establishing an integrated digital question preparation platform for the first time, which unites measurement and evaluation centers in 81 provinces. So far, 150 thousand questions have been prepared for the newly created question pool. With these centers, whose capacity is increasing day by day, the measurement and evaluation capacity of our Ministry will become much stronger. I would like to thank my Deputy Minister Sadri Şensoy, who successfully carried out these processes, his colleagues, and all our teachers who work in measurement and evaluation centers in 81 provinces.”
