WE ARE WANTING 5 THOUSAND STAFF TO WORK IN MANUFACTURING

Speaking at the meeting, Torbalı Chamber of Commerce President Olgun said, “There are currently 65 thousand employees in our district and we need at least 5 thousand qualified personnel with vocational training. Finding people to work in jobs such as CNC operator, welder, turner, electrician, technical draftsman, furniture upholsterer and machine maintenance has almost fallen into the black market. We cannot find personnel to work in machining with a salary of 7-8 thousand TL.” said. Stating that the interest in vocational education is gradually decreasing, President Olgun said, “While the number of students enrolled in the metal department in the industrial vocational high school in our district last year was 154, the number of graduates was 28; The number of students enrolled in the furniture department is 114, while the number of graduates is 5. However, Torbalı industry needs 5-6 thousand graduates for these two fields. . I would like to say this to our guidance teachers and school principals: A machinist who is a graduate of vocational high school gets more salary than anyone else except the District Governor in this hall.” said.
