The Vocational Qualification Certificate is an extremely important document both for the health and safety of the worker and for the employer to employ more qualified personnel. In order to obtain the Vocational Qualification Certificate, you need to apply to the institutions and organizations in many cities of Turkey authorized to issue documents through the website of the Vocational Qualifications Authority (MYK).
Why is Obtaining a Vocational Qualification Certificate Obligatory?
The Draft Law on Amending the Occupational Health and Safety Law and Some Laws and Decrees was passed on April 4, 2015 in the General Assembly of the Turkish Grand National Assembly and enacted with the law number 6645. The Law also made important changes in the Vocational Qualifications Institution Law No. 5544.
Undoubtedly, one of the most important of these changes has been the professions, which are closely related to the working and business world. According to the law; “Persons who do not have a Vocational Qualification Certificate shall not be employed in the professions, which are dangerous and very dangerous, and whose standards are published by the Vocational Qualifications Authority and specified in the communiqués to be issued by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, in accordance with the principles regulated in the Vocational Qualifications Authority Law, twelve months after the publication of the communiqués.”
With the latest communiqués published by the Ministry, it has become compulsory to obtain a Vocational Qualification Certificate in 181 professions in total. Occupational Competence Certificate, which is obligatory to be obtained especially for those who work in the dangerous and very dangerous professions, is one of the important criteria in terms of proving their qualifications for both the employee and the employer. You can easily prove your knowledge, skills and competency related to your profession with this document, which is given as a result of measurement and evaluation based on national qualifications.
With this system, employers can employ more qualified personnel and people with certificates can be preferred primarily in their job applications.
Who has to obtain a professional qualification certificate?
With the first communiqué published by the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services on 25/05/2015, in 40 professions, in 24 professions with the second communiqué published on 03/2016/8, in 26 professions with the third communiqué published on 09/2017/33, 11 With the fourth communiqué published on 11/2018/36, there is a document obligation in 03 professions, with the fifth communiqué published on 10/2019/26 in 9 professions, and in the sixth communiqué published on 4/2021/40, there is a document requirement in a total of 183 professions, including 40 professions. With the sixth communiqué, persons who do not have VQA Vocational Qualification Certificate cannot be employed in 09 professions twelve months after the publication of the communiqué (as of 04/2022/XNUMX).
It is planned that the document requirement, which started in 180 professions in the Ministry's Communiqués, continues in 226 professions in the list of wage tariffs determined by the President's Decision and the Council of Ministers at the first stage, and then it is planned to be applied to all professions in the dangerous and very dangerous class.

How to get a professional qualification certificate?
Individuals are entitled to receive VQA Vocational Qualification Certificate if they pass the theoretical and practical exams at the certification bodies authorized by the Vocational Qualifications Authority.
Professional Competence Certificate Exams
You are required to take the exam after your application process from the institutions and organizations authorized to obtain the Vocational Qualification Certificate. These exams are held in two stages, theoretical and practical, and multiple choice questions are asked in the written exams. If you fail the exam, you are given the right to take the exam one more time free of charge. If you have failed at any stage, it is considered sufficient to only take the exam for that stage. E.g; If you pass the practical exam and fail the theoretical exam, you only have to take the theoretical exam a second time. In short, when you apply for a professional qualification certificate, you have the right to take the exam twice in total. If you can benefit from the State Incentive, you are given 1 more free exam right.
Where to get MYK Certificate?
After being accredited by TURKAK according to TS EN ISO 17024 standard, it is obtained from Certification Bodies authorized by MYK in the relevant national qualifications.
How much is the professional qualification certificate fee?
Professional qualification document printing fee is 200 TL. This fee can be paid at the time of application or when the right to receive a document is granted.

VQA Document Inquiry
Integration studies initiated between the Vocational Qualifications Authority and the e-Government Gateway on 18.01.2017 have been completed, and the services offered to citizens through the Institution's website have been completed. E-Government Access has also been opened.
With this integration, "Document Status, Incentive and Grant Inquiry", "Certificate Authorized Institutions and Fee Tariffs", "Vocational Qualification Certificate Verification", "MYK Vocational Qualification Certificate Inquiry", "Exam “Inquiry the History”, “Mobility Certificate Inquiry” and “Mobility Certificate Verification” services will now be easily accessible via the e-government portal.
