According to 2018 results of Household Budget Survey; transportation expenditures accounted for 18,3% of total consumption expenditure.
Households accounted for the largest share of transport expenditures with the purchase of vehicles (motorized and non-motorized vehicles) with 54,2%. This was followed by expenditures related to the use of personal transportation vehicles (fuel and oils, spare parts and accessories, maintenance and repair services) with 27,7%, and transportation services (road and other passenger transport) with 18,1%.
High-income households allocate more shares to vehicle purchases
According to the results of the research, it was seen that the income level of the households was effective in the distribution of transportation expenditures. 20 accounted for the purchase of vehicles, 38,1 accounted for transportation services and 32,7 accounted for the use of personal transportation vehicles. The fifth highest-income 29,2 group's households accounted for 20's vehicle purchases, personal 57,4's use of personal transportation, and 27,4's transportation services.
