Work is ongoing for the new airport of Istanbul. Test flights have started for the runways.

The first phase of Istanbul's new airport will open on October 29. 90 percent of the airport has been completed. Calibration flights for testing of navigational devices started. The Cessna Citation XLS type flight control aircraft, which belongs to the State Airports Authority, knowed the runway on the test flight. The plane, which did not put wheels on the runway, successfully completed the check whether its devices were working correctly. During the controls, it was determined that the systems were working properly and the runway was suitable for landings and departures.
