Smart Bicycle era in Ordu: Ordu Metropolitan Municipality is implementing the "Smart Bicycle" application in Altınordu, Ünye and Fatsa districts.
Stations where the 120 bike will be located will include disabled car chargers and mobile phone chargers. The bicycle will be taken from any station and will be accessible to the desired point of the city.
The "Smart Bicycle" project to be implemented by Ordu Metropolitan Municipality in Altınordu, Fatsa and Ünye districts is coming to life as of September 1. Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Enver Yılmaz stated that 15 bicycles will serve at 120 stations within the scope of the project.
EACH STATION HAS A DISABLED VEHICLE AND MOBILE PHONE CHARGING UNIT
Stating that the infrastructure works of the system providing alternative transportation service have been completed, Mayor Yılmaz said, “We are installing vehicle charging units for our disabled citizens in all 15 stations to be established for the Smart Bicycle application. Again, there will be mobile phone charging units for each station. A smart card system will be applied to use bicycles. The system, which provides alternative transportation services, removes the obligation to carry bicycles. Citizens can use the bicycles they buy from Smart Bicycle Stations for city transportation and drop them off at any station they want. In other words, a citizen can reach any point in the city with a bicycle they buy in front of the Ordu Culture and Arts Center, and then drop them back to any station when the job is finished, ”he said.
BICYCLE COLORS DETERMINED BY FOLK VOTE
Stating that the bicycles to be used were determined by a survey, Mayor Yılmaz said, “We presented 7 different applications regarding the colors and designs of the bicycles to the public voting through the website of our municipality. The color of the bikes was set in shades of gray. I hope the project will be beneficial for our city ”.
CONTRIBUTE TO SHORT DISTANCE TRANSPORTATION
Stating that with smart bicycles, individuals will meet their transportation needs in short distances with a shorter time and an environmental understanding, President Yılmaz said, “The system can be controlled via GPRS. TOTAL 13 THOUSAND 100 METERS BICYCLE PATH WAS ESTABLISHED IN THREE DISTRICTS

ALTINORDU SMART BIKE PROJECT
9 smart bicycle station and disabled charging station will be located in Altınordu district. Each station has 8 bicycles and 13 bicycle parking areas. Within the scope of the 4 thousand 900 meter length project, there will be a total of 72 bicycles and 117 parking spaces. Station points, Durugol Indoor Sports Hall opposite, in front of the College, Hotel Denizkizi opposite, Ordu Culture and Art Center opposite, Mostar Bridge, Ordu High School opposite, Teleferik side, was identified as the skateboard side and port.
ÜNYE SMART BIKE PROJECT
Within the scope of the Smart Bicycle Project in Ünye district, there are 3 smart bike stations and disabled charging stations. Within the scope of the project with a bicycle path length of 5 meters, there will be a total of 700 bicycles and 24 parking spaces. Bicycle stations in Ünye will be located across Ünye Intercity Bus Terminal, Ünye Niksar Junction and Ünye Çamlık.
FATSA SMART BIKE PROJECT
3 smart bicycle stations and disabled charging stations will be implemented in Fatsa district. Each station will feature 8 bicycles and 14 bicycle parking spaces. The length of the bike path will be 2 thousand 500 meters. In total there will be 24 bicycles and 42 parking spaces. Stations will be located opposite Kader Pastanesi, opposite Fatsa Cumhuriyet Square and in front of Ordu University Vocational School.
