Baku-Kars-Tbilisi railway line 1 will carry millions of passengers: Transport Minister Ahmet Arslan, BKT line will reach 3 million passenger capacity in the medium term. A fraternity line will be established between Trabzon and Diyarbakır.

Can you tell us about the works in Baku Tbilisi Kars Iron Silk Road project?
With the completion of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) Railway Project, continuous rail transport will be provided from Europe to Asia. Turkey, between the two continents billions of dollars of cargo can be transported in large volumes to obtain transportation revenue. With the commissioning of the line, it is estimated that 1 will have a passenger capacity of 1 million passengers and 6,5 million tons, and this capacity is expected to reach 3 million passengers and 17 million tons in the medium term. This project should not be considered only as a national project. This project is an international project.
BKT to connect with Middle East
BTK railway line will make Turkey a center of attraction. This project will be the main corridor. Through this main corridor, we will reach the Black Sea, Georgia and even the Middle East. We build transportation corridors extending to the Middle East. Turkey, transport corridor, extending from Central Asia to Europe, rail, air, sea and road transportation facilities, such as when used with all 'bridge' we will fully benefit from the location. If we mobilize trade through our country and expand logistics, this will also enable us to develop political and human relations with our neighbors and to revive the trade of our country.
Trabzon to connect to Diyarbakir by rail
-What is the latest situation in High Speed Train projects, will there be new lines?
We are working on the Erzincan-Gümüşhane-Trabzon high speed train line. 2023 is a project within our objectives. We will make an 246 high speed train line between Erzincan and Gümüşhane-Trabzon. With this project, the new railway line with double lines, electric and signal will be transported to the Central Anatolia Region and the South Ports. Trabzon and Gumushane will be connected to the national railway network. We aim to conclude the final project tender. The projects of the Sivas Malatya section of the line connecting Diyarbakır to Istanbul were started. This is the continuation of the line of Elazığ Malatya Elazığ and Elazığ Diyarbakir section of the project in the next year we aim to begin. We continue our work in accordance with the 2023 targets. We will take our rail systems further from Diyarbakir, Gaziantep and connect to the lines of neighboring countries.
Çandarlı Port will open the Aegean Region to the world
Çandarlı port has no problem with EIA report. In the 2011, studies on EIA were completed. It is one of the projects that our Prime Minister Mr. Binali Yıldırım initiated during his ministry. We are acting in accordance with this importance. In Çandarlı Port, certain distances took place in the infrastructure works. Breakers were made. We plan to make the remaining infrastructure and superstructure works with Build-Operate-Transfer model. The process continues. Çandarlı Port will be a very important trade gateway to the Aegean region.
