3rd airport statement from Minister Elvan

Statement of the 3rd airport from Minister Elvan: Transport Minister Lütfi Elvan responded to the criticism of the 3rd airport at the General Assembly of the Parliament. He said that if the consortium made an investment of less than 3 billion Euros, the difference would be paid to the state and this was turned into an official report by contract.
Explaining that the aviation industry has made significant progress in recent years and has a growth of 14,5 percent annually, Elvan said that Atatürk Airport is the first in the world and Sabiha Gökçen Airport is the second in the world in terms of the increase in the number of passengers.
Elvan said the following criticism of the third airport:
“It was stated that some cabinets are rotating. I want to tell you very clearly here; The third airport is open and transparent with a tender in the presence of everyone, it is open tender and given to whoever will pay the most money to the state. 22 billion Euros, excluding VAT, will enter the state coffers of approximately 1 billion Euros per year. There were some statements that we would destroy that region. The place where the third airport was built for 50-60 years has been turned into a swamp by both quarries and coal enterprises. Everything is destroyed right now. By building the third airport, we will streamline it. It is stated in the specification that the code of the third airport can be changed, and all firms bidding with an addendum are informed that this code may change. There is a projected investment amount for the third airport, about 10 billion Euros. If the consortium makes an investment under 10 billion Euros, the difference will be paid to the state. This was made into an official report by contract and signature. Therefore, there is absolutely no loss of the state, expressed in different ways, such as 2 billion, 1 billion Euros. ”
