Speaking at the meeting, Chamber of Architects Istanbul Büyükkent Branch President Mücella Yapıcı said, “Extremely important projects are tendered without plans, licenses or projects. Stating that if the 3rd Bridge project is also added to the 3rd Airport project, any strategic decision such as transportation and settlement in Istanbul is in question, Yapıcı argued that these projects upset the natural and ecological balance of the entire Marmara Region.

Yapıcı emphasized that the ongoing 3rd Bridge and ring road constructions are not included in the plans of 1 / 100.000. The 3rd bridge and the ring roads that caused the birth of the airport are still not included in the 3 thousand scale plans. Because if it is processed, it may be subject to a lawsuit again. He said that such an important airport project is 'corrupt' in the environmental plan.

Stating that even the 1 / 100.000 Environmental Plan and its annexes, which is the constitution of Istanbul, are evidences, Yapıcı said, “We do not need to add any comments to our lawsuit petition. The Istanbul 1 / 100.000 scaled environmental arrangement report and its annexes produced only by the ministry and the reports prepared by the Ministry of Transport serve as evidence for the acceptance of this case. "It has been preserved as an indispensable condition in the environmental plan plans produced for Istanbul until today, and it is completely against the principle of protecting the north and developing Istanbul in the east-west direction".
He concluded his words by saying, “If we cannot stop the 3rd Bosphorus Bridge and 3rd Airport projects, we will go down in history as the spectators of a huge massacre”. The Chamber of Architects, Urban Planners and Civil Engineers announced that they applied to the administrative court on September 12.
In addition, the lawsuits filed by the trade associations affiliated to TMMOB regarding the announcement of the reserve area, urgent expropriation, cancellation of the tender and suspension of the execution, cancellation of the EIA positive decision are ongoing.
