Waste Collection Boats in Muğla Are Ready for the Season

Muğla Metropolitan Municipality is ready for the tourism season with 8 waste collection boats to keep the seas cleaner. Metropolitan teams, which continue their work due to heavy sea traffic during the summer season, will continue to collect waste and bilges as of May 1.

The seas of Muğla, one of the most important tourism centers of Europe and Turkey and the stopping point of the blue voyage, continue to be cleaned by the Metropolitan Municipality. Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, which continues its efforts to protect the seas throughout the province, will continue its service with waste collection boats as of May 1.

Within the scope of the 'Blue Sea Clean Coasts' project, Muğla Metropolitan Municipality collects waste from marine vessels with 8 boats and collects it at the waste reception center in Göcek and Akyaka. The seas of Muğla, where thousands of tour boats and private marine vehicles travel, are protected thanks to the Metropolitan Municipality. While the Metropolitan teams continue to collect waste in Göcek, Gökova Gulfs and Dalaman bays, they have served 2014 thousand 26 boats since 386. 16 thousand 32 liters of waste oil, 53 thousand 452 liters of bilge, 16 million 787 thousand 745 kg of solid waste and 19 million 532 thousand 372 liters of waste water were collected from the serviced boats.
