4 Years of Longing Ended in Manisa

The International Manisa Mesir Paste Festival, which has not been held for various reasons for 4 years, is being held for the 484th time this year. A 'Welcome Mesir' cortege was organized within the scope of the International Manisa Mesir Paste Festival, which was long awaited by the people of Manisa. The cortege march, which started in front of Hakkı İplikçi Park, included Manisa Governor Enver Ünlü, Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Architect Ferdi Zeyrek, his wife Nurcan Zeyrek, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Brigadier General Zafer Tombul, Manisa CBÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Rana Kibar, Manisa Provincial Police Chief Fahri Aktaş, CHP Provincial Chairman İlksen Özalper, Şehzadeler Mayor Gülşah Durbay, representatives of non-governmental organizations and hundreds of Manisa residents attended.

The cortege took action accompanied by the anthems performed by the Manisa Governorship Marching Band and the Princes' Mehter. The folk dance teams of the guest countries participating in the festival took part in the cortege with their cultural costumes and local music, creating colorful images. The cortege, which included demonstration teams as well as fellow citizens' associations, was welcomed with enthusiasm by the people of Manisa.

During the cortege walk, Mayor Zeyrek greeted the citizens with the protocol members, while the people of Manisa frequently showed love to him with applause and cheers.

At the same time, we are celebrating the Manisa Mesir Paste Festival. We are very happy. Our Mesir Festival will be the locomotive. "Manisa will be the city of festivals," he said.

Speaking after Durbay, Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Architect Ferdi Zeyrek shared his feelings with the following words. “We missed Mesir very much. I missed Mesir so much too. It makes me very happy to see the happiness on our people's faces. Mesir Festival has now turned into a carnival. Today is the 104th anniversary of the opening of our Turkish Grand National Assembly and our National Sovereignty and Children's Day. We were with our children all day long, we sang songs and played games. It makes me happy to remind our future generations of our Mesir Festival. These festivals will continue. We have May 19 Youth and Sports Day ahead of us. We are preparing for it very well. The people of Manisa have an Individual President who is always with our people and will meet their needs for five years. "The happiness and pride of this is enough for me," he said.
