Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş gave the good news: The number of children cared for in foster care has reached 10 thousand 84! In this way, the number of our children growing up in loving homes is increasing day by day.

What is Foster Family?

The foster family model is a family-oriented service model that allows children who cannot be cared for by their biological families for various reasons to be educated, cared for and raised in a safe and supportive family environment determined by the Ministry.

What is Required to Become a Foster Family?

  • be at least 25 years old
  • Being married or single (not having any health problems that would prevent the protection of children)
  • Having financial means

  • Having a high level of education and awareness

The state provides financial and moral support to foster families. These supports include monthly salary, insurance and training opportunities.
