Northern Storm and Heavy Rain are Expected in Istanbul Tomorrow!

According to the latest meteorological forecasts made by IMM Disaster Affairs Department AKOM, the northern wind will blow intermittently as a storm in Istanbul from the early hours of tomorrow. There will be showers of rain along with strong winds. The rains that will be seen in the western districts in the morning are expected to spread throughout the province at noon and be effective until the evening hours. It is estimated that intermittent heavy rains will leave 20 to 50 kilograms of precipitation per square meter.

According to the meteorological assessment of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Disaster Affairs Department AKOM, the western regions of our country, especially Istanbul, are under the influence of the low pressure system coming from the Central Mediterranean. It is expected that the light rains, which are currently seen throughout the province, will increase their effect with the wind that will blow intermittently in the form of a storm (40-65km/h) from the northern directions (Poyraz) starting from the early hours of Saturday (tomorrow).

STARTING FROM THE WESTERN DISTRICTS

It is estimated that the showers, which are expected to start in western districts such as Çatalca, Silivri and Arnavutköy on Saturday, will spread throughout the province towards noon and will have a strong impact (20-50kg/m2) at intervals until the evening hours.

The cold and rainy weather is expected to lose its effect late on Saturday and leave the city as of Sunday. It is predicted that temperatures, which have currently fallen to the range of 12-14°C, will rise above 20°C again.
