DOSİDER Discussed the Future of the Heating Sector in Ankara

The Green Deal, heat pumps, hybrid solutions, developments in the natural gas market and second-hand product sales were the main items of the negotiations.

DOSİDER Board of Directors, who made a series of visits in Ankara, held important discussions on the current developments and future of the sector. During the visits, Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) President Mustafa Yılmaz, EMRA Energy Department Head Hüseyin Daşdemir, Ministry of Industry and Technology General Director of Industry Prof. Dr. DOSİDER Board of Directors came together with İlker Murat Ar, Başkentgaz Officials and Ministry of Commerce Consumer Protection and Market Surveillance and Inspection General Manager Avni Dilber, and discussed the developments and current issues regarding the sector and shared their suggestions.

DOSİDER (Heating Devices Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association) Board of Directors met with important stakeholders of the sector through a series of visits to Ankara. During the visits, views were exchanged on the future of the sector and current issues.

DOSİDER Delegation, consisting of Chairman of the Board Ekrem Erkut and accompanying Ufuk Atan, Ali Aktaş, Hakan Akay, Bedri Dilik and Sencer Erten, Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK), Ministry of Industry and Technology, Başkentgaz and Ministry of Commerce Consumer Protection and Market Surveillance and He visited the General Directorate of Audit.

The first visit was to EMRA

The first visit point of the DOSİDER Delegation in Ankara was EPDK. After congratulating Mustafa Yılmaz for being re-elected as the President of EMRA, information was given about the Future Vision and Strategy document, which was prepared by DOSİDER in December 2023 and launched at its 30th Anniversary event. During the meeting, evaluations were made about energy efficiency, which is the current issue of the sector, the use of renewable energy products, developing hybrid solutions and heat pump devices. However, it was stated that natural gas is still the most important energy source for our country and will maintain its importance for many years.

Within the scope of the visits, the delegation exchanged views with EMRA Energy Department Head Hüseyin Daşdemir about the future of the heating sector and current developments.

Full support from the Ministry of Industry

The second part of the DOSİDER Delegation's Ankara program included the Ministry of Industry. The delegation was attended by General Director of Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, Prof. Dr. İlker Murat Ar visited him in his office and expressed his wishes for success in his new position. Mutual views were exchanged regarding the developments in the air conditioning sector and heat pump devices, whose use is becoming more widespread day by day. It was evaluated to carry out joint studies regarding the marketing and control of these devices with certain standards. The DOSİDER delegation also brought up the risks posed by second-hand combi boiler sales regarding the safety of natural gas use and stated that studies should be carried out on this issue.

Deputy General Manager of Industry Serkan Çelik was also visited at the Ministry of Industry, with the participation of Dinçer Gonca, Head of Machinery Industry Department, and a plaque commemorating the 30th Anniversary was presented to him. While the issues on the agenda were discussed in this meeting, an agreement was reached to further increase cooperation for the development of the sector.

Başkentgaz Visit

One of the visit centers of the DOSİDER Delegation was Başkentgaz. During the meeting with Başkentgaz Chief Executive Officer Emre Torun, Deputy General Manager Işık Deniş, Operations Manager İlker Tınaz and Internal Installations Manager Mustafa Coşkun, developments regarding gas distribution companies were evaluated. The problems experienced by gas distribution companies in the field and Başkentgaz's investment plans and expectations for 2024 were discussed. The DOSİDER Delegation specifically stated the contributions of the practices implemented by Başkentgaz to date to the safe use of natural gas and expressed their opinions regarding the continuation of these practices.

Visit to the Ministry of Commerce

The last stop of the DOSİDER Board of Directors in Ankara was the Ministry of Commerce. The delegation visited Avni Dilber, General Director of Consumer Protection and Market Surveillance and Inspection of the Ministry of Commerce, and expressed their gratitude for his participation in the 30th Anniversary event. The parties decided to come together as soon as possible and organize a workshop where they will discuss in detail the issues related to market surveillance of the sector.

DOSİDER President Ekrem Erkut: The first steps of the new era have been taken

Ekrem Erkut, DOSİDER Chairman of the Board of Directors, said the following while evaluating the visits in Ankara:

“These visits we made in Ankara enabled us to obtain important information about the future of our industry and current developments. In our meetings with officials from the Energy Market Regulatory Authority, the Ministry of Industry and Technology, Başkentgaz and the Ministry of Commerce, we exchanged views on important issues related to the sector. We expressed the opinions and demands of the sector on issues such as the Green Deal and zero carbon targets, heat pumps and hybrid systems, developments in the natural market, second-hand device sales and security risks. Additionally, as DOSİDER, we informed our interlocutors about the work we did in the region after the earthquake. During this process, our member companies maintained over 40 thousand devices in the region and brought them into safe working condition. As an NGO representing 95 percent of our sector, we will continue to work and produce added value for our country in the coming period. We believe that these visits to Ankara will be the beginning of a new era. We took our first steps. '' said
