Aliye Rona, birth name Aliye Dilligil (1 January 1921, Dera – 29 August 1996, Istanbul) was one of the important names of the Turkish cinema and theater world. Rona, who has successfully portrayed many different characters in Turkish cinema, has especially masterfully played tough Anatolian women.

Aliye Rona was born in 1921 in the city of Dera on the border with Jordan, which was under the French Syrian Mandate at that time. His father is Ramiz Bey, a railway operator from Trabzon, and his mother is Servinaz Hanım. He is the brother of actor Avni Dilligil and journalist Turhan Dilligil. After studying at Beyoğlu Evening Girls' Art School, in the late 1930s Kadıköy He started acting in amateur theater at the Community Center.

Aliye Rona's Last Years and Death
In her last years, Aliye Rona was paralyzed on her right side and was confined to a wheelchair. During this period, she stayed in a nursing home in the Pendik district of Istanbul. However, the health and violence incidents in this nursing home attracted the attention of the media and the plight of Rona was brought to the agenda. Rona stated that her last wish was to "play Zübeyde Hanım, the mother of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk." She died at the age of 29 as a result of a brain hemorrhage on August 1996, 75. His body was buried in the family grave at Karacaahmet Cemetery. Her private archive is located at the Women's Works Library and Information Center Foundation in Istanbul.
