“WE ARE WAITING FOR OUR CHILDREN'S PROJECTS THAT WILL TRANSFORM THE SOCIETY”

Stating that they aim for a cultural transformation that spreads throughout the society in terms of cleanliness and hygiene with the Clean Tomorrows Starts from Schools Project, OPET Board of Directors Founding Member, Nurten Öztürk said, “As OPET, we aim to add value and create benefits to the society with the social responsibility projects we have implemented since our establishment. With the Clean Toilet Campaign, which has been ongoing since 2000, we have raised great awareness on this issue by providing training to more than 12 million people and carrying out joint projects with institutions and organizations. With the Our Business is Clean Project, which we carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of National Education, we not only focused on our sector, but also tried to contribute to the development of our society by creating hygiene standards in businesses. We continue to take this effort even further with our "Clean Tomorrow Starts from Schools" project. "With this project, which we started in collaboration with our Ministry of National Education, our greatest desire is for all our children studying throughout the country to make hygiene awareness a part of their lives, and to carry this perspective to all segments of society and to the future," he said.

IT COVERS ALL PUBLIC SCHOOLS ACROSS TURKEY

The Clean Tomorrows Starts from Schools Project, implemented by the Ministry of National Education and OPET, includes content aimed at raising awareness about the place and importance of cleanliness and hygiene in all areas of life, from personal hygiene to toilet use, environmental cleaning, and ensuring proper hygiene in the environment. In order to raise awareness of children and young people on this issue, video training modules were prepared for teachers working at all levels throughout Turkey via the Teacher Information Network (ÖBA). With these trainings published on ÖBA within the scope of the project, it is aimed to raise awareness among students, teachers, school administrators, school support staff and parents about cleanliness and hygiene. In this context, it is aimed to develop new and creative practices by teachers for the school and its environment, organize social responsibility campaigns, make the gains achieved permanent and disseminate good practice examples throughout the country.
