Neighborhood headmen were also determined in the Local Government Elections held on March 31, 2024. While the existing headmen in some of the 116 neighborhoods in İnegöl regained confidence, changes took place in some neighborhoods. The first meeting of the new term was held today with the headmen who took their mandates and started their duties. At the meeting held under the chairmanship of District Governor Eren Arslan and Mayor Alper Taban with the support of İnegöl Mukhtars Association, both introductions and consultations were held on the road map of the new era.
The meeting held today at 14.30 at the Fifth Mevsim Culture and Art Center was attended by District Governor Eren Arslan, Mayor Alper Taban, neighborhood headmen and Deputy Mayors; Fevzi Dülger, Hasan Aydın, Derya Uysal Tuncay, Melih Ateş, Mukhtars Association President Oktay Garip, İnegöl Gendarmerie Commander Gendarmerie First Lieutenant İsmail Tepe, İnegöl Police Chief Okan Şen and institution managers and department heads attended.

Mayor Alper Taban, who made the opening speech of the meeting, said, “The local governments of our city were re-determined with the 31 March Local Government Elections. Our people made their choices regarding the Mayor, council members and headmen. I hope the results will be beneficial to everyone. I would like to express that I see all our headmen as my colleagues. The task you have undertaken is not a simple or easy task. You are responsible for every citizen in our neighborhoods. Likewise, we took responsibility for all our citizens in the city. Therefore, I would like you to know that we do not separate our headmen from ourselves. We see you as our colleague and companion. "We will serve this city and this nation together for 5 years," he said.

Emphasizing that the muhtars are always with them and their supporters, Taban continued as follows: “We do not leave the sensitivity of our state and our President towards our muhtars unrequited in İnegöl. In addition to the steps taken by our state in order to respond to the questions of our headmen as quickly as possible and evaluate their demands as quickly as possible, we, as İnegöl Municipality, have also implemented a series of practices in the past period. We established our Mukhtar Affairs Directorate, appointed our Vice Presidents responsible for our Mukhtars and rural and central neighborhoods. We tried to be with you and support you at all times by determining your interlocutors. Now we are opening a new page with a new era. As in the past, our Mukhtar Affairs Directorate and our relevant Vice Presidents will continue their duties. We will continue to work with you again. We will provide the best service we can to each of our neighborhoods, starting from the priority needs. At this point, your guidance is very valuable to us. We took on the task of our citizens to do more than what has been done so far. This task has been given to both us and you. Therefore, we also have expectations from our headmen. You are the ones who know the neighborhoods, regions and streets you live in best. That's why the information, guidance, ideas and suggestions you provide are very valuable to us. With this motto throughout the period, we will carefully listen to every word coming from the mouth of our headmen and continue to direct our work for the development of our city. “We will strive to touch each neighborhood and provide services according to demands and needs.”
District Governor Eren Arslan also noted that headmen undertake an important duty; “I congratulate all our headmen who took office. I wish success to our headmen who will serve as a bridge between our state and our citizens. "As representatives of the state, we are with you and your supporters," he said.
