Nostalgic trams, which have been serving in Taksim and Istiklal Street, one of the most iconic symbols of Istanbul, since 1990, are preparing to be replaced by modern and environmentally friendly battery-powered trams. As the first step of this eagerly awaited change, the nostalgic battery-powered tram went on a test drive in Taksim.

The test drive, which started in the morning, continued until the end of the trip, and during this period, great interest was shown in the tram. Citizens examined the new tram with curiosity and participated in test drives.

The nostalgic battery-powered tram is equipped with modern technology while preserving the exterior appearance of the classic tram. The tram operates thanks to batteries, without the need for electrical lines. In this way, environmental pollution is reduced and visual pollution does not occur along the tram line.
