The countdown has begun for Marathon-Izmir, which will be organized for the fifth time by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. 21 athletes from 38 countries and all over Turkey will participate in the marathon to be run on Sunday, April 5. Maratonİzmir, with AVEK Automotive as the main sponsor, is organized this year with the motto "Health and Quality Life" in line with the global goals set by the United Nations for a "Sustainable World". New records are expected to be broken in the organization, which is included in the list of the world's fastest marathons in World Athletics.
Ersun Yanal and Bengisu Avcı will also be on the track
This year, Ersun Yanal, one of the leading coaches of Turkish football, who started a pioneering movement to create equal opportunities for children and young people in Turkey by establishing the Ersun Yanal Foundation, and Bengisu Avcı, the first and only Turkish woman who managed to swim across four channels in the Ocean Sevens, were also on the track. will take its place. Sidrex Running Team and Bengisu Avcı will run for the "Life-Saving Bracelets" campaign organized by the Quality in Health Association (SAĞKAL) together with the Izmir Chamber of Pharmacists.

The athletes, who will reach Inciraltı via the same track, this time via Mustafa Kemal Sahil Boulevard, will return from Izmir Marina and complete the race at the starting point.

A 10-kilometer run will also be organized within the scope of Maratonİzmir. The start of this race will be at 07.00 on the same day and from the same point. Athletes will return from the Köprü Tram stop on Mustafa Kemal Sahil Boulevard and complete the race in the lane opposite the Fuar Kültürpark old İZFAŞ building. 10 thousand athletes will participate in the 5-kilometer run.
