Gebze Ankara Street is Being Expanded

Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, which focuses on bridge and intersection investments in order to produce radical solutions for transportation, also makes existing roads healthier. In this context, the Metropolitan Municipality, which has completed the Darıca Osmangazi Bridge Duplexing work and eased transportation from Feniş Junction (above the Metropolitan Osmangazi Tunnel) to Darıca, will now expand Ankara Street extending from Feniş Junction to Beylikbağı direction, thus relieving the traffic flowing in this direction. With this work, the density at Feniş Junction, especially at the beginning and end of working hours, will be further reduced.

ANKARA STREET WILL BE INCREASED TO 4 LANES

Metropolitan teams are carrying out road expansion work on Ankara Street, which is used as the entrance to Gebze Beylikbağı District from D-100 Feniş Junction. Within the scope of the work, the street, which currently has 2 lanes, one way and one way, is being increased to 2 lanes, 2×4, with the work of the Department of Technical Affairs teams.

ROUNDATION IS BEING REMOVED

Within the scope of the works, the roundabout at Kasvak will also be removed and turned into a four-arm intersection with a more modern planning. According to the new intersection plan, right and left turns and transit transitions will operate according to the four-arm intersection logic. Continuity of traffic flow will be ensured with additional lanes for right and left turns. Thus, vehicles coming from Istanbul and Kocaeli directions will be able to continue without congestion. In addition, Metropolitan teams will also carry out landscaping work at the intersection of Ankara Street and Yeni Bağdat Street, which is the continuation of this area. In this study, vehicles that want to turn right and left will be able to pass in transit without waiting for traffic lights with the new additional turning arms.
