A fire broke out in the nightclub under renovation in Gayrettepe, Istanbul. Many police, firefighters and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. It was stated that 12 people lost their lives in the fire and 9 of the 4 injured were in serious condition.
-16 and -1 of the 2-storey building located on Gündoğdu Street, Gayrettepe District, Şişli district of Istanbul. For an unknown reason, flames broke out in the entertainment center operating on the first floor.
Upon notice, fire brigade, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene.
While the fire, whose cause has not yet been determined, was extinguished as a result of the intervention of the fire brigade, according to initial findings, 12 people lost their lives in the incident. 9 of the 4 injured are in serious condition.
An investigation into the incident has been launched.
