Cow Milk Collected by Commercial Dairies Increased in February

The amount of cow milk collected by commercial dairy enterprises increased by 13,1 percent in February compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 897 thousand 379 tons.

According to the data of the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), the amount of cow milk collected by commercial dairy enterprises increased by 13,1 percent annually in February and by 8,7 percent in the January-February period compared to the same period of the previous year.

On an annual basis in February; Cow cheese production increased by 10,6 percent, ayran production by 28,3 percent, yoghurt production by 16,6 percent, drinking milk production by 0,5 percent, and butter production by 20,1 percent.

In the January-February period, compared to the same period of the previous year, cow cheese production increased by 11,5 percent, buttermilk production increased by 20,1 percent, yoghurt production increased by 12,7 percent, drinking milk production increased by 3,3 percent and butter production increased by 20,0 percent.

The amount of cow milk collected by commercial dairy enterprises decreased by 915 percent in February from 522 thousand 2,0 tons in January to 897 thousand 379 tons, and in the same period, drinking milk production decreased by 153 percent from 796 thousand 13,2 tons to 133 thousand 505 tons. .
