Courses Continue at Yunusemre Public Education Center

For the first time in Manisa, a 200-hour Darbuka (Turkish Music) Training course was opened by Yunusemre Public Education Center. The course is given by retired TRT Artist Turan Mamay. The course, which continues with the participation of 50 trainees at Yunusemre Public Education Center, was visited by Yunusemre District National Education Director Yıldıray Demirtaş, Yunusemre Provincial National Education Branch Director Emel Bayer and Yunusemre Public Education Center Director Ayşen Oğuz. Stating that the courses of Yunusemre Public Education Center continue uninterruptedly, Yunusemre District National Education Director Yıldıray Demirtaş said, “There was intense interest in our course. Many talented and undiscovered trainees from our district participated in the course. Our trainees will give their first concert free of charge to the people of Manisa during the Lifelong Learning Week. "I would like to thank our trainees and teachers," he said.

Course instructor, retired TRT Artist Turan Mamay, said: “The guys are very talented. They keep rhythm to the works. In our studies, we learn notes academically, how to perform a rhythm saz within a piece after learning notes? How to read a piece while playing rhythm? We teach these. We have very beautiful folk songs and songs and songs of the day. "Our work is productive," he said.

Selda Özkan, one of the trainees, said: “We both learn and have a good time here. We are having a time filled with music. We started playing the darbuka with the basics of keeping rhythm. We come to the course with pleasure. We will succeed in keeping rhythm and playing the darbuka as soon as possible. "I would like to thank those who contributed to the course," he said.
