The total economic output of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay region exceeded 2023 trillion yuan (about 14 trillion dollars) in 1,97. This figure means that one-ninth of China's total production is realized in an area with a surface area of ​​less than 0,6 percent of the country.

Zhu Wei, Deputy Chairman of the Greater Bay Area Guangdong Office, stated that the region had an output of 2018 trillion yuan in 10,8, and this has increased by 3,2 trillion yuan in the past five years. According to Zhu's statement, the Greater Bay Area also has a more advanced scientific and technological capacity, transportation network, more facilitating platforms and a more favorable business environment.
