Samsun Metropolitan Municipality continues to increase the number of green areas and social areas where citizens can spend time. In this context, landscaping works in the Library Park, the construction of which started in Atakum district, continue without slowing down.
Samsun Metropolitan Municipality brings a new living space to the city. Landscaping works are continuing rapidly in the Library Park, the construction of which has started on a total area of 10 thousand 702 m2, located right next to Alparslan Boulevard in the Atakum district of the Metropolitan Municipality. Landscaping works in the area, where walking paths, promenades, children's entertainment areas, sports and exercise areas, book reading areas and green areas will be located, are carried out meticulously in order to highlight the aesthetic and functional features of the park. Library Park will be a green area where citizens can spend time in peace, with an eye-catching appearance with different plant species, colorful flowers and shady areas.
Providing information about the work carried out, Head of the Parks and Gardens Department Ekrem Şahin said, “A project is being implemented in the heart of Atakum, which will bring the life of the city together with greenery. Here, we not only plant saplings, but also carefully remove approximately 15-year-old trees grown in our own nursery and transplant the ready-made large adult trees to the park area. Our goal is to turn the middle of the city into an oxygen center. We will bring life to this area with plane trees that are approximately 15-20 years old. Additionally, we will bring the serenity of nature to the city by planting more than 220 mature trees. "We will turn this place into an even more visual feast with ornamental plants that give off scent and add beauty with the flowers they bloom," he said.
