IMM WILL CONTRIBUTE IN MANY AREAS FROM ASPHALT REPAIR TO PROMOTION

The Metropolitan Municipality, with its many units and subsidiaries under the coordination of the IMM Youth and Sports Directorate, undertook various tasks to ensure that Istanbul hosted the organization in the best possible way. Road maintenance and repair works are important as they will prevent athlete injuries that may be caused by the track. In this context, the relevant units of IMM will ensure that the problems on the roads are repaired and eliminated until the race day. Ongoing or planned road works will be completed before the race day. Works such as infrastructure and excavation will not be allowed by any institution on the route until the evening of the day the race ends. IMM teams, who will bring the pitted manhole covers on the route to road level, will repair the deteriorations they detect on the asphalt ground. Again, for the health of athletes, in order to prevent serious injuries, the cutting parts of the low iron rope barriers located in the Tram stop area on Majlis Mebusan Street (Beyoğlu) will be covered with sponge-like materials.

Various measures will be taken by IMM regarding cleaning and waste management. Environmental cleaning will be done before, during and after the organization, and a sufficient number of personnel will be assigned to Beşiktaş Square, which is the starting point of the race, and Hagia Sophia Mosque and Sultanahmet Square, which are the finishing points. Personnel, cleaning equipment and garbage collection vehicles will be available in the compulsory garbage disposal areas of the athletes, which are designated as "Litter Zone" on the timetable on Bağdat Street, to ensure that the garbage thrown out during the race is collected. The cleaning of the last 5 kilometers of the track will be carried out by IMM teams.

IMM's Police Units will also be on duty for the organization. Various measures will be taken on all matters concerning the police before, during and after the organization in Beşiktaş and Sultanahmet Square, which are the starting and finishing points of the race, and the teams will be on duty from 07.00 in the morning.

Many streets and main arteries will be closed to traffic throughout the race. In order to prevent traffic congestion, IMM will inform you that there will be disruptions in road transportation in the open areas under its responsibility and in Beşiktaş, Sirkeci, Eminönü and Bostancı piers. In order to avoid any disruption in public transportation, arrangements will be made for bus and metrobus services on the route.

In order to reduce the density in the ISPARK areas along the route of the race, no vehicles will be allowed in the parking lots starting from the evening hours on April 27. A helipad in the event area in Yenikapı will be allocated on 2 and 27 April for the landing and take-off and overnight stays of 28 helicopters that will take part in TV shootings.

Another important contribution made by IMM is in the field of promotion.
