“Last Day Democracy, in its simplest definition, is the self-government of the people. The people elect the person they deem worthy to represent them, in line with their political ideas and views.

The people of Uzunköprü deemed me worthy of this duty for 5 years and honored me as the first female mayor of Uzunköprü. I worked 365 hours a day, 24 days a week with this responsibility. I worked hard…

We worked hard... I could have stood aside saying the municipality had a debt, but I chose to make something out of nothing. I could have made excuses by saying we dealt with Corona for 2 years, but I chose to produce solutions and work. In addition to producing dozens of physical projects, we also addressed many social wounds and tried to support everyone. We were worried about the problems of women, young people, children, tradesmen, disabled people, poor people, and strange people, and we tried to cure everyone's problems by saying #MyAilemUzunköprüm. We opened the Municipal Nursery and became the Mayor's aunt to our children.

We built our Women's Activity Center, we said let our women produce and let Uzunköprü win. We organized the Women's Labor Market and said that our women should sell what they produce and contribute to the family economy. We built our Barrier-Free Living Center, we wanted our disabled people to receive education and our disabled families to have peace of mind. We built Vadi Park and created a paradise for Uzunköprü. We built a 20 decare solar field, we said let's use clean energy and reduce our energy expenses.

We put our Solid Waste Facility into operation and produced electricity from Uzunköprü's garbage.

We built our new Intercity Bus Terminal, where it should be, in a way that suits Uzunköprü. We built Public Bread Buffets, so that our people who are experiencing economic difficulties can put more bread on their table. We built the July 8 Justice Monument, so that no more lives will be hurt. We moved our International Historical Uzunköprü Festival down to give life to our tradesmen. We built the Public Bazaar, so that no child would be left without a coat or shoes, and the surplus would be able to fill in the needs of those in need. We opened the People's Table, so that everyone who comes to the municipality could find a solution to their problems. Alzheimer's Mobile We built the Tracking System so that patients and their relatives would be safe. We built Şeker Park Youth Center, so that the people of Uzunköprü who pass by it and say, "If only this place could be fixed, this dumpster should be cleaned", could walk here comfortably and safely.

We built our Village Minibus Terminal so that both our tradesmen and our village citizens would be comfortable.

We cleaned the abandoned buildings in the city and built free parking so that the people of Uzunköprü could use it easily and the traffic would ease. We brought natural gas so that the people of Uzunköprü would not breathe poison. We built the Stray Animal Shelter so that we could take care of every living creature.

We built Atatürk Park and Cumhuriyet Park to provide employment opportunities for our youth and for our people to socialize at affordable prices.

We took over our Advanced Biological Waste Water Treatment Facility, which was left to rot. We did not put it out to tender for operation, we operated it with our own power, so that the municipality's money would remain with the municipality. We continued our Yeniköy, Çöpköy, Atbaba and Hıdırellez festivals, so that our traditions would survive.

We started the Yeniköy water infrastructure work, so that our people can use clean and healthy water. We moved the inappropriate workplaces to the other side of the bridge, so that our women and young girls can walk freely in the streets and the stoves do not go out. We did not leave any of our athletes and sports clubs alone, so that they could make Uzunköprü proud with their success. .

We became stakeholders in Kavacık and Çöpköy OIZ, so that the youth of Uzunköprü would not be unemployed. We did not knock or leave a door so that the Eskiköy Border Gate would be opened, so that life would come to our district.

We received millions of liras of grants from the European Union and Sister Municipalities, so that our Municipality would not be under a financial burden. We provided nutritional support to primary school students, so that no child in Uzunköprü would go to bed hungry. During the corona process, we distributed 1 million masks and tons of disinfectants so that no one would catch this disease.

We distributed 3000 containers of hot food every day, so that no one would feel lonely. We distributed food parcels to all our tradesmen and the apprentices working with them, so that they would not suffer because their workplaces were closed. We gathered with our headmen and non-governmental organizations, held public meetings and neighborhood meetings, so that we could manage this city together. We poured thousands of tons of asphalt, laid hundreds of thousands of square meters of stone, so that Uzunköprü would suit the best. We were always at work in floods, rain, fire and disaster, and none of our citizens So that he doesn't feel alone, so that we can heal the wounds together.

We traveled thousands of kilometers so that we could represent Uzunköprü and the people of Uzunköprü in the best possible way.

We worked, we always worked! Could we have done more? Of course we could. But as I said at the beginning of my article, democracy means that the people choose the person who will represent them at the ballot box. The will of the people of Uzunköprü was manifested in the ballot box.

I offer my endless respect and heartfelt love to the people of Uzunköprü, whom I call my big family, who protect democracy, and I thank them.

The biggest thank you is to my devoted children whom I could not see for days and sometimes weeks, to my precious wife for their endless support, my mother, my father, my brother, my wife's family, in fact my entire family, and those who became my family over time... The Great Republican People's Party Organization, who worked day and night, and my comrades. Every farewell is a hello.

Thanks"
