The opening of the Historical City Square Facade Improvement Project, brought to Ereğli by Konya Metropolitan Municipality, and the Ereğli National Garden, an investment of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, was held with an enthusiastic ceremony attended by the Minister of Commerce Ömer Bolat.
Speaking at the opening program held in Devlet Bahçeli Square, Ereğli Mayor and People's Alliance Ereğli Mayor Candidate Hüseyin Oprukçu said that the efforts to create an atmosphere that would suit Ereğli were allocated with the support of the Metropolitan Municipality. Oprukçu said, “May God bless our Metropolitan Mayor. "Ereğli is developing, and on this occasion we have achieved the harmony and unity we desire so much," he said.
“TOTAL COST OF THE WORK WE PROVIDED FOR EREĞLİ WITHIN ONE WEEK IS 650 MILLION LIRA”
Speaking at the opening, Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that every time they come to Ereğli, they come with full saddlebags and made the following evaluations:
“Last time we came, we opened 8 artificial turf fields. On Wednesday, we laid the foundation of Bilgehane, which will serve our youth and students, where the old courthouse is located. Today, we are opening the Facade Improvement that we brought to Ereğli. We are also opening our nation's garden built by TOKİ, which is the largest National Garden in Konya with an area of 200 thousand square meters. It's not over, hopefully we will lay the foundation of the Truck Garage on Tuesday with the participation of our Ereğli Mayor and the protocol. The total cost of the works we brought to Ereğli in just one week, from Wednesday to Tuesday, is 650 million liras. Ereğli is our largest district outside the center. That's why we continue to plan and carry out our services with our Mayor Hüseyin Oprukçu. Our Metropolitan Municipality carried out the restoration of the Rüstem Pasha Caravanserai, which is located immediately on our left. We carried out the rehabilitation of the façade right across the street, prestige roads, our fire station, our semi-Olympic swimming pool, which is one of the two swimming pools we built outside the center, and paving and road works. Hopefully we are much stronger this term. Because we have 4 ministers in the cabinet and our Minister of Commerce, Mr. Ömer Bolat, the son of Ereğli, is with us, I hope we will be together in service.”

Underlining that they want to serve Ereğli in the new period, Mayor Altay said, “There was something we said in the squares; 'let's be a trio, let's be strong'. Hopefully we will be triple and strong in Ereğli. Our esteemed Mayor Hüseyin Oprukçu, the candidate of the People's Alliance in the District Municipality, if you favor us, we, our esteemed MPs and the 4 ministers represented in the cabinet, will serve Ereğli in the Metropolitan Municipality. With what we have done so far, we have implemented many projects from Ereğli's infrastructure to its social life. But now we will embark on a new journey and with the experiences we have gained so far by saying 'real municipalism', with the support of our mayor, our deputies and our Minister, we will strive and serve to make Ereğli's future much stronger."
Stating that, as Konya Metropolitan Municipality, they will continue to provide the services that Ereğli needs, Mayor Altay emphasized that they stand behind Hüseyin Oprukçu in all the works of Ereğli.
Mayor Altay invited all Ereğli residents to the Konya Rally, which will be held in Kılıçarslan Square on Sunday, March 17, with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Minister of Commerce Ömer Bolat stated that his hometown Ereğli has always been a crown jewel for them and said, “We came to Ereğli often when we were young. You may remember my first visit after becoming Minister, I made it to Ereğli and I promised that if there were problems or problems in Ereğli, Konya or other districts, I would be at your service with these duties given to us by our President. God bless you. Alhamdulillah, our President and his friends did not embarrass you. If they had not worked or served, they would have been sent away in the first election. Look at the periods before the AK Party, governments were either 5, 6 or 7 months old. Very few made it past a year. This means that this noble nation supports those who work, those who give trust, those who serve the people, those who develop and strengthen the country. "He has been supporting for 17 elections, hopefully he will support in the 18th as well," he said.

Reminding that the Turkish economy has increased fivefold in 21 years, Minister Bolat continued his speech as follows: “The national income of 5 billion dollars has been increased to 230 trillion 1 billion dollars. I remember Ereğli from my youth and childhood. There is a completely different Ereğli today. Before even reaching the city, industries, investments, renewed houses, replaced vehicles, municipal services, roads, parks and here is the public garden; 81 thousand square meter public garden. “Good luck and good luck.”

Reminding that Konya Metropolitan Municipality has provided many services in addition to the Ereğli Historical City Square Facade Improvement Project, Minister Bolat said, “In order for the services to continue, we need to be strong both at the center and locally. We must not lose stability. The central government is at your disposal. Look, our President gave duties to 4 ministers from Konya. Thank God, we were blessed with Ereğli; "To serve our Turkey, our Konya, and you," he said.

In his speech, Minister Bolat described Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay as a legendary mayor and completed his speech with the following words:
“Konya is the model city in municipality in Turkey and Uğur Mayor is the President of the World Union of Municipalities. Look, the president of the world is President Uğur. Our president, Hüseyin Oprukçu, is a monument of experience. We are not separated, we are in solidarity. There is no fight between my party and your party. Those names were preferred for whoever would serve where. Our Konya Metropolitan Municipality will continue to increase its support to Ereğli. “As the central government, we will do whatever needs to be done for Ereğli.”
Following the speeches, the opening of Konya's largest National Garden of 200 thousand square meters, which was brought to Ereğli by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, and the Historical City Square Facade Improvement Project, which is the restoration project of Konya Metropolitan Municipality, was held with prayers.
To the program; Konya Governor Vahdettin Özkan, AK Party Konya Provincial Board Members Mehmet Munlafalıoğlu, Salih Koyuncu, AK Party Ereğli District Chairman İbrahim Erol, MHP Ereğli District Chairman Musa Yılmaz and many citizens attended.
After the opening in Ereğli, Minister Bolat, Mayor Altay and the protocol visited the district tradesmen. Minister of Commerce Ömer Bolat also visited Halkapınar district before Ereğli and met with citizens.
