Elderly and Pension Pensions Started to Be Deposited to Accounts

Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş stated that they deposited elderly pensions amounting to approximately 3,5 billion TL and disabled pensions amounting to approximately 2,8 billion TL into the accounts of the beneficiaries.

Reminding that the payments made to disabled and elderly citizens increased with the new regulation made in the civil servant salary coefficient in January, Minister Göktaş said, “There has been an increase of nearly 50 percent in the monthly payments of social assistance programs. In this regard, while the elderly pension increased from 2.348 TL to 3.504 TL, the pensions of our citizens with a disability rate between 40-69 percent and the disabled relative's pension paid to citizens with disabled relatives under the age of 18 increased from 1.874 TL to 2.797 TL. "Again, the monthly salaries of our citizens with a disability report of 70 percent or more increased from 2.811 TL to 4.196 TL," he said.

Stating that they paid the February old age pension and disability pension together with the difference arising from January, Minister Göktaş said, “In this direction, we deposited the elderly pension and disability pension amounting to a total of 6,3 billion TL for February into the accounts. "I hope the payments will be beneficial to all our disabled and elderly citizens," he said.

Stating that they have developed comprehensive and regular social assistance programs for disabled and elderly citizens, Minister Göktaş said, "We support disabled and elderly citizens in every field, from education to health, from economy to social life, so that they can live independently with their full and effective participation in social life."
