The Republic of Turkey State Railways (TCDD) Transportation is expected to increase the High Speed Train (YHT) tickets by 15-20 percent.

After President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's presidential election, which he won with 47.82 percent against CHP leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who received 52.18 percent of the vote in the second round, all eyes are on rising prices. After the elections, after the increase in alcohol and gasoline, an increase in YHT prices is expected.

TCDD Tasimacilik started working to increase YHT tickets by 15-20 percent. This work will be presented to the new Minister of Transport and Infrastructure after the cabinet is formed. The hike is expected to come into effect shortly.

In 2022, TCDD Tasimacilik increased YHT tickets by 20 percent in January, 10 percent in March, 15 percent in April, 30 percent in June and 10 percent in September.

TCDD made a 15 percent increase in YHT tickets in January this year. With the increase, the ticket price between Istanbul and Ankara increased from 215 TL to 248 TL.

In Ankara, it is said that bridges and highways operated by the state will be included in the price hike wave in a short time. The General Directorate of Highways would generally increase tolls at the beginning of the year. This year, he did not raise. With the completion of the election, the way for the raise was opened.
