General Manager of the Republic of Turkey State Railways (TCDD), Hasan Pezük, gave information about the work done in the earthquake zone on TV-24 live broadcast. Hasan Pezük, who started his speech by wishing God's mercy to those who lost their lives in the earthquake and a speedy recovery to the injured, said that after the earthquake, they moved to the region under the coordination of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and started working. Stating that they created crisis centers in the earthquake area and started working without losing time, TCDD General Manager Hasan Pezük said, “As Railways, we have created a warm environment with a capacity of 6 thousand by bringing our trains to our stations and stations in the region. In coordination with the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, AFAD and governorships, we started to host our earthquake victims on trains from the first day and started to meet their food needs. In the first stage, we provided an important service opportunity to our citizens.” said.

Underlining that railway transportation has a strategic importance in disaster situations and its importance increases one more fold, General Manager Hasan Pezük said, “We started to evacuate our citizens from the region by quickly maintaining the lines damaged by the earthquake. We tried to meet the needs of our citizens by delivering food, clothing and living materials to the region with aid trains. The area damaged by the earthquake is very large, but our state is doing its best in the field with all its institutions and organizations. We, as the railways, are trying to provide transportation and logistics services without interruption with more than 3 thousand 500 personnel. I hope we will overcome this difficult period together with our nation." he said.

Explaining that they provide these services to our citizens in Adana, Osmaniye, Fevzipaşa, Malatya and Diyarbakır, which are earthquake routes, Hasan Pezük continued his speech as follows: “We take care to extend our services to the entire region. We heat the passenger wagons where we host our guests by generating electricity from the generator wagons. We coordinate the food needs with AFAD. This is our duty. From the first day, we work with our friends 7/24, leaving them to their families, even though some of them experienced the earthquake. We make an effort not to interrupt the works by moving many of our friends from other regions to this region. We bring both the aid train and the volunteers, we carry out evacuation services jointly with the highways through transfers. As TCDD family, we try to do our best 7/24. We are used to responding to all kinds of needs.”

Explaining that the 275-kilometer line was damaged in the earthquake, Hasan Pezük stated that maintenance was carried out in the thousand-kilometer area, while the work continues in other regions.

At the end of the live broadcast, the presenter thanked TCDD General Manager Hasan Pezük for his information and promising good news.
