The second phase of the deep space reconnaissance radar “China Compound Eye” was launched yesterday in Yunyang county of Chongqing city of China.

The second phase of the “Chinese Compound Eye” is located on Zhongzhou island of Longjiao town of Yunyang county and covers an area of ​​0,2 square kilometers.

The project plans to install 2025 25-metre-aperture radars by 30 to detect and image asteroids tens of millions of kilometers away and to support China's planetary science research.

According to the information received, the "Chinese Compound Eye" project consists of three phases. Construction of the first phase was completed in Chongqing in December 2022, and China obtained a three-dimensional radar image of the Moon for the first time.
