TCDD and TCDD Taşımacılık AŞ have been working non-stop since the first day in the earthquake zone under the coordination of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure. Railways working in coordination with AFAD; undertakes important duties in logistics, shelter, maintenance, repair and evacuation activities, adding a little balm to the suffering of earthquake victims.

The earthquake caused damage to a total of 275 kilometers of railway lines passing through the provinces where it occurred. Alarmed after the disaster, the production teams completed their work in a short time at 74 kilometers of the damaged line;

  • Uninterrupted railway transportation was provided to Sivas - Malatya - Elazig and Diyarbakir directions.

Work continues on the damaged 201 kilometer İslâhiye – Fevzipaşa, Fevzipaşa – Nurdağı, Köprüağzı – Kahramanmaraş lines. Due to the collapsed tunnels on these lines, 205 work teams consisting of 29 road maintenance personnel continue their activities. During the severe earthquake, 16 freight wagons and 4 diesel set consisting of 1 wagons waiting at the stations and stations were damaged moderately and heavily. In addition, 307 freight wagons and 9 locomotives were trapped in the closed line section. Most of the wagons have been removed, and the rescue work of the trapped locomotives and wagons continues.

TRAINS CARRY GOODNESS

210 flights were organized to the disaster area with conventional lines and YHT. About 40 thousand citizens were evacuated free of charge. 458 volunteer doctors and 2.700 military personnel were transferred to the earthquake zone by YHT and conventional trains. 35 trains sent to the disaster area, 453 wagons and 16 wagons of construction equipment, 108 wagons of humanitarian aid, 145 wagons of 290 living containers, 90 wagons of 90 container heaters, blankets, generators, 30 wagons of coal, 5 wagons of mobile WC, 5 heating units generator wagon and 54 more shelter wagons were sent in addition to the existing wagons. Apart from these, life container shipments that will go to the earthquake zone, especially Izmir and Istanbul, continue. The second aid train prepared by our citizens living in Romania was sent to the earthquake zone by passing through Marmaray. 2 wagon coal trains loaded from Soma were shipped to Malatya.

6 THOUSAND EARTHQUAKE WERE GUESTS TO RAILWAYS

Shortly after the earthquake, approximately 6 thousand of our citizens are hosted in nearly a hundred wagons at various stations and stations. Meals and accommodation were provided for 200 people at the Gaziray construction site in Gaziantep, for 500 persons at the Mersin-Adana-Gaziantep High Speed ​​Train Nurdağı construction site, and for 150 persons at the Toprakkale construction site. 661 of our citizens are accommodated in TCDD's training facilities in Arsuz and Urla, guesthouses in Adana and personnel dormitories in Ankara, Kayseri, Diyarbakır, Elazığ, Ulukışla and Samsun.
