“Foreign Trade Information Seminar” was held for DTSO members in cooperation with Diyarbakır Provincial Customs Directorate, Türk Eximbank Diyarbakır Branch and Southeastern Anatolia Exporters Union (GAİB), hosted by Diyarbakır Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DTSO).
DTSO Chairman of the Board Mehmet Kaya, Chairman of the Assembly Nevin İl, Customs Manager Mustafa Karacaoğlu, Türk Eximbank Diyarbakır Branch Manager Barış Öztürk, Southeastern Anatolia Exporters' Association (GAİB) Diyarbakır Liaison Office Assistant Expert Berivan Timur and DTSO members attended.
Making the opening speech of the Foreign Trade Information Seminar, DTSO President Kaya said, “We will carry out joint works with other institutions, especially the Customs Directorate, in order for Diyarbakır to reach the position it deserves in terms of exports and to increase the export potential of our members in a process where Global Trade is gaining importance day by day. Although Diyarbakir was not at the desired level in terms of exports, it achieved a 2022 percent increase in exports in 27. Our main goal is to lead our members to compete in the international market with such seminars and to ensure that they reach the places they deserve in exports. We are strengthening our Foreign Trade Unit, which we established within our chamber. We will also reach exporting companies and companies that have the potential to export. In today's seminar, information will be provided about the problems and solution methods experienced by our members in the export processes, as well as the Export Support Credits of Eximbank and the supports provided by the Southeastern Anatolia Exporters' Association in exports.”
Stating that they are working as a Chamber to solve the backlogs at the Habur Customs Gate and the problems faced by the exporting companies, Kaya said, “We are in constant communication with both our Customs Directorate and the managers at the Habur Customs Gate. We are constantly making efforts to move our foreign trade to better levels. We are working to facilitate the access of business people of our region and province to all world markets, especially neighboring countries. We have started to see the results of our efforts. Ultimately, the increase in exports throughout our province and region in recent years is a concrete indicator of our efforts. The reason why we come together with our exporting companies and related institutions in our chamber today is to increase our opportunities in foreign trade. I would like to thank our institutions and exporting companies that participated in our seminar.”
Diyarbakır Customs Manager Mustafa Karacaoğlu informed about the services offered at Diyarbakır Customs Directorate and said, “The export transactions made through the Customs Directorate do not reflect the export potential of Diyarbakır and we will carry out joint studies with Diyarbakır Chamber of Commerce and Industry in this regard. In addition, as the Customs Directorate, we will provide convenience to exporting companies in all kinds of support in export.
Türk Eximbank Diyarbakır Branch Manager Barış Öztürk informed DTSO members about the services provided by Türk Eximbank. Öztürk made a presentation on the short, medium and long-term loans they support in exports, foreign currency earning loan packages and access to other loans they support. In addition, Öztürk stated that they carry out the necessary intelligence studies in 238 countries on behalf of exporting companies, and said that they provide credit insurance support for the goods or services subject to export, thus facilitating the export of the companies.
Southeastern Anatolia Exporters Union Diyarbakır Liaison Office Assistant Specialist Berivan Timur, about the Market Entry Document, Overseas Brand Registration Support, Market Entry Project Preparation Support, Overseas Market Research Support, Overseas Fair Support, Domestic Fair Support, Promotion Support and other supports. As GAİB, they provide support to exporting companies in terms of accessing the supports given by the Ministry of Health.
