The Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquake of February 6 caused a great destruction that would affect the future of our country. The main reason that increased the destruction of the earthquake so much is an understanding of urban development that submits to rent, ignores scientific reason and the benefit of society, and the institutional destruction that leads to great incoordination in disaster management.

The fact that the places with the highest building stock in many settlements are the ones most affected by the earthquake is a result of the uncontrolled and uncontrolled construction of the rent-oriented political will. On the other hand, it is extremely thought-provoking that, in addition to disaster management and disaster logistics, public investments and services for the earthquake did not survive the earthquake process.

The destruction has revealed the fact that the disaster management approach needs to be restructured and strengthened at the national level, as well as the economic, political, public administration, health and education system.

In this framework, the Republican People's Party, taking into account all these negativities, decided to create a "National Disaster Strategy" and to maximize disaster sensitivity. As the initial step of the preparation of the National Disaster Strategy, we invited and continue to invite scientists from different fields of disaster-oriented engineering, urbanism/architecture, sociology, health, management and logistics. Policy framework and implementation plans will be structured with the contributions of scientists, especially professional organizations, relevant non-governmental organizations, experts with field experience and volunteers. Coordination will be ensured with the work of our deputies in the TGNA. The works are coordinated by the CHP General Secretariat.
