Yenişehir Municipality, which provides basic needs material support to the earthquake victims who came to Mersin after the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes, has provided shelter services to 100 citizens so far.
Yenişehir Municipality Mustafa Baysan Male Student Dormitory, Yenişehir Municipality Guesthouse and two temporary shelters in Gazi Mahallesi and Aydınlıkevler Mahallesi, Yenişehir Municipality, which hosted 100 earthquake victims, also meets the basic needs of the citizens it hosts.
Yenişehir Municipality, which hosts earthquake victims in a total of 4 centers, provides psychosocial support to citizens who request it, as well as basic needs.
Yenişehir Mayor Abdullah Özyiğit said, “Our university students were staying in our Mustafa Baysan Higher Education Male Student Dormitory and Guest House. After the universities switched to distance education, the majority of the students went to the provinces they lived in. When there were gaps in these two countries, we opened our doors to our citizens who were victims of the earthquake.” used the phrases.
President Özyiğit said that they have prepared the area consisting of containers as a village product market opposite the Muğdat Mosque and turned it into a temporary shelter.
“We host nearly a hundred of our citizens there. In cooperation with the Toros Rotary Club, we prepared the old Botanic restaurant as a shelter and opened it to our citizens who were affected by the earthquake. The number of earthquake victims, for which we have provided shelter, has reached 100. Currently, 4 earthquake survivors are accommodated in our 677 centers. We will continue to stand by them with all our means. I believe that with solidarity, we will heal the wounds.”
