President Şahin Explained the 'Emergency Action Plan' Prepared for Earthquake Victims

After the earthquake in Kahramanmaraş Pazarcık, Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fatma Şahin talked about the Emergency Action Plan she prepared for the earthquake victims with her technical team during her visit to Nurdağı.

Explaining that the action plan includes healthy determinations about what an earthquake victim needs, Mayor Şahin said:

“The earthquake victims had to be dressed, fed and sheltered urgently. Then, portable toilets had to be installed. Currently, we have nearly 200 portable toilets in the district. After that, after a week, the need for a shower arose in order to ensure hygiene. For this, we only have portable showers at 160 points of Nurdagi. Subsequently, our children should not be left behind in their education and families should receive psycho-social support. Now we have established our container city right away. We have prepared a plan that includes everything a young person, an old person, a disabled person needs. We started training. We have special psycho-social support courses for all age groups. We receive support from academic psychologists so that earthquake victims can receive a healthy therapy. The number of psychologists who provide this support is approximately 200. Our human capital is ready. Our psychologists visit the tents and containers one by one, asking questions to the families. The needs of the disabled, elderly and children are determined. After these clusters, the needs are supplied quickly.”

During the visit of Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fatma Şahin to Nurdağı, Health Minister Dr. Fahrettin Koca and Japanese Ambassador Suzuki Kazuhiro were also present.
