The daily gas production of Changqing fields, China's largest gas producing area, has exceeded 150 million cubic meters since the beginning of this year. This amount is ten million cubic meters more than the volume of gas extracted in the same period of last year.
PetroChina Changqing Oilfield Co., the company that operates the deposits, announced that this basin produced six billion cubic meters of natural gas last year, a 4 percent increase compared to the previous year.
It supplies gas to 40 million users living in more than 400 large and medium-sized Chinese cities with production basins. During the warming period that began in November 2022, Changqing supplied more than 15 billion cubic meters of natural gas. In order to ensure a stable production, the company's 7 employees serve in the Erdos Plain in the northwest of the country, enduring the extremely cold weather.
