Avcilar Municipality, which has mobilized all its possibilities after the earthquake that stifled Turkey, is increasing its solidarity day by day. From the very first day, the municipality teams, which sent a large number of construction equipment and teams, established a comprehensive logistics center in Hatay. Aid collected at Avcılar Municipality Logistics Center is delivered to earthquake victims.
After two major earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş, the whole of Turkey was mobilized. “Hunters with the Spirit of Solidarity!” Avcılar Municipality started its work right after the earthquake. Avcılar Municipality Civil Defense Unit immediately moved to the earthquake zone. Aid trucks prepared by the Avcılar Municipality teams, the municipality's search and rescue team, a catering vehicle, a disabled transport vehicle and a bus for 35 people set off towards the disaster area. Under the leadership of Mayor Turan Hançerli, the aid that moved to the region came together at the Avcılar Municipality Logistics Center, which was established in the earthquake zone of Hatay. In the logistics center; needs and priorities were determined, plans were made. Aid trucks moving from Avcılar to the disaster area, construction equipment, trucks, cranes, and the veterinary team that will provide treatment and nutritional support to stray animals in the region have started their work.

Avcılar Municipality teams, which have been participating in the search and rescue efforts in the regions affected by the disaster since the first day of the earthquake, continue their aid efforts with the people of Avcılar. Aid materials prepared by the municipality, together with the aid materials from the citizens, are sent to the planned regions in the logistics center in Hatay. Volunteer caravans also support teams that give priority to areas where transportation is difficult and support is not available.
Boilers Boil in Earthquake Zone
While the search and rescue and wreckage works continued, the cauldrons started to boil for the disaster victims. With the cooperation of Avcılar Municipality teams and the Eurasian Gastronomy Cooks Federation, soup kitchens were established in the region. Three hot meals a day are distributed to the people of the region from the boiling cauldrons at 5 points.
While the Avcılar Municipality teams healed the wounds in the earthquake area, they did not forget their neighbors in Avcılar. The municipality, which is looking for its compatriots living in Avcılar and having relatives in the earthquake zone, conveys the message of the mayor Turan Hançerli to get well soon and asks for their needs.
Turan Hançerli in the Disaster Area
Avcilar Mayor Turan Hançerli, who started working on the field from the first moment of the earthquake that mobilized the whole of Turkey, shared the pain of the citizens affected by the earthquake in Kahramanmaraş Elbistan, one of the epicenters of the earthquake. Hançerli, who went to Hatay to coordinate the ongoing works after Kahramanmaraş; “The earthquakes we experienced destroyed Hatay as well as Kahramanmaraş, Adıyaman and Gaziantep. The sights we see hurt us. In order to heal the wounds together, we continue our work in our Logistics Center in Hatay Center and in the field. All our teams serve in the field. We take aid to hard-to-reach places together. We will overcome these difficult days with the power of solidarity.” said.
