After the earthquakes, the epicenter of which was Kahramanmaraş, Pazarcık and Elbistan and affecting 10 provinces in total, the Turkish Armed Forces' intensive contribution to search and rescue, life support and health activities continues.

TCG BAYRAKTAR and TCG SANCAKTAR, the largest landing ships of the Turkish Armed Forces, which remained in the region after moving construction equipment from Foça to İzmir, continue to provide health services.

Minister of National Defense Akar, along with Chief of General Staff General Yaşar Güler, Naval Forces Commander Admiral Ercüment Tatlıoğlu and Air Force Commander General Atilla Gülan, visited the ship, which serves as a hospital, and visited citizens who were receiving treatment.

Having received a briefing on the work from the Southern Naval Area Commander Rear Admiral Yalçın Payal at TCG SANCAKTAR, Minister Akar later visited the wounded with his commanders. Minister Akar conveyed his wishes to the citizens, including Yasemin Oktay, who was pulled out of the rubble in Iskenderun after 102 hours, and received information about their health status. Citizens who experienced the pain of the destruction caused by the earthquake also thanked them for the services provided.

Addressing the personnel later, Minister Akar stated that the Turkish Armed Forces, as a whole, stood by their nation from the very first moment in order to eliminate the problems that occurred after the disaster of the century.

Emphasizing that the Disaster Emergency Centers were activated in the headquarters immediately after the earthquake for the coordination of activities, Minister Akar said that the Naval Forces Command ordered the ships BAYRAKTAR, SANCAKTAR and İSKENDERUN, two frigates and two helicopters in the region to be ready to go to Iskenderun.

Noting that the "Marine Aid Corridor" created, a great contribution was made to the aid directed to the earthquake region, Minister Akar said, "With TCG İSKENDERUN, 328 people have been transported so far, 545 of them injured." he said.

Expressing that they are working with all their might to heal the wounds as soon as possible, Minister Akar said, “There is a serious effort and effort here. All of our personnel are doing their best to help our country, our nation and our citizens, and to relieve their pain even a little bit.” said.

Emphasizing the importance of transporting aid and rescue teams and supplies to the region after the earthquake, Minister Akar said:

“The planes, ships and helicopters of our Turkish Armed Forces have undertaken important tasks in this regard. TCG BAYRAKTAR, TCG SNCAKTAR continues to accept patients at the role-2 level. We have provided and continue to provide health services to 421 citizens so far. Even though our Iskenderun Base Command was exposed to the earthquake, even they mobilized the means at their disposal, and even now, they continue to provide maximum assistance to the search and rescue activities and evacuation activities in the field of health in Iskenderun. Our ships are ready for both personnel and material transportation. Our coordination with relevant organizations continues, and we continue to contribute as needed.”

Emphasizing that the TAF actively participated in activities with 67 aircraft and 57 helicopters from the land and 24 ships and 5 helicopters from the sea, Minister Akar said:

“The Turkish Armed Forces, which emerged from the heart of our nation, has been at the service of our noble nation, together with other ministries and institutions, from the first day, in these difficult days. I wish God's mercy to all our citizens, arms and colleagues who lost their lives in the earthquake, and a speedy recovery to our wounded. Working shoulder to shoulder with our noble nation, we will overcome all these difficulties and heal our wounds as one fist and one heart. Throughout our thousands of years of glorious history, our state and nation, which has come out of all kinds of misfortunes in unity and solidarity, will overcome this difficult period as one fist and one heart.”
