The International Kayseri Half Marathon, organized by the Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality with the theme of 'Erciyes' for the second time this year, witnessed the fierce competition of athletes from 15 different countries as well as athletes from different provinces of Turkey.

The International Kayseri Half Marathon, which was held for the first time with the theme of 'Kültepe' last year and attracted attention, was held with the theme of 'Erciyes' this year.
In the marathon, in which more than 6 thousand Turkish athletes from all over Turkey as well as 15 foreign athletes from 120 countries participated, both citizens did sports and the promotion of the ancient city was made on an international scale.
The opening ceremony of the International Kayseri Half Marathon was attended by Mayor Büyükkılıç, as well as Kayseri Governor Gökmen Çiçek, Kocasinan Mayor Ahmet Çolakbayrakdar, Talas Mayor Mustafa Yalçın, Hacılar Mayor Bilal Özdoğan, Turkish Athletics Federation President Fatih Çintimar, Youth and Sports Provincial Director Ali İhsan. Kabakcı, Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Spor A.Ş. Chairman of the Board of Directors Hamdi Elcuman, Spor A.Ş. General Manager İbrahim Somtaş, bureaucrats, KCETAŞ, KASKİ officials, athletes from all over the country, foreign athletes from 15 different countries and sports fans from Kayseri participated.

Speaking before the People's Run, before the start, President Büyükkılıç said, “We thank each and every one of those who participated in this study and our sponsors. I wish success”, while the President of the Turkish Athletics Federation Fatih Çintimar wished success to the participants. Governor Çiçek said, “We are sending greetings from Kayseri, the city of peace, to all of Turkey, and we are giving a voice to all of Turkey. Today, children, young and old, all of Kayseri are together here. For the sake of awareness, we are together in unity," he said.
After the speeches, the countdown was made, the horn was pressed by the protocol, and the race started by the start referees. President Büyükkılıç and Governor Çiçek and the accompanying protocol also participated in the public race.
MARATHON WAS RUN IN 10 CATEGORIES, 21K, 3K AND PEOPLE RUN
The International Kayseri Half Marathon, organized with the 'Erciyes' theme with great participation and the slogan 'More than a Marathon', was run in three categories as 21K, 10K and public races.
In the half marathon, which started after the warm-up exercises, the athletes sweated on the route Cumhuriyet Square, Sivas Street, Yıldızevler and Anatolian Wonderland.

While mini concerts were given with the Metropolitan Municipality band that will motivate the athletes along Sivas Street, the little trainees of Spor A.Ş. applauded the athletes on the side of the road and gave morale and motivation.
