SSB President Demir: “Our P-72 Maritime Patrol Aircraft will be one of the strategic elements of our Naval Forces in the defense of the Blue Homeland”

Within the scope of the MELTEM-3 Project carried out by the Presidency of Defense Industries, the fifth of the P-72 Naval Patrol Aircraft was delivered to the Naval Forces Command.

The project is carried out with the intense participation of the Turkish industry. Detailed parts production, aircraft modification (structural and electrical modifications and system tests), material supply, ground and flight tests support and Integrated Logistics Support (process certification and training plan preparation, periodic maintenance of aircraft) activities are carried out by Turkish Aerospace Industries. System/device supply is provided by ASELSAN. While there are Link 11 and Link 16 systems developed by Milsoft, the Marine Patrol Ground Station has been updated by HAVELSAN to support P-72 aircraft.

An Important Force Multiplier for the Control and Protection of Our Blue Homeland

Following the delivery of the fifth Naval Patrol Aircraft, the last Naval Patrol Aircraft is planned to be delivered to the Naval Forces Command in the first half of 2023.

President of the Presidency of Defense Industry Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir made the following statement on the subject: “As Defense Industry, we are always on duty to protect our national interests in the Blue Vatan. With the aim of improving the possibilities and capabilities of our Naval Forces, we have made many systems ready for service. Our P-72 Maritime Patrol Aircraft, the fifth of which we have delivered, will also be one of the strategic elements of our Naval Forces in the defense of the Blue Homeland. In this context, we are also planning to provide the necessary support to our Naval Forces Command in the operation and maintenance of the systems by starting the 2023-year logistic support service of the mission systems of our Maritime Patrol Aircraft in 3. We will continue to strengthen the strength of our Turkish Armed Forces with our new platforms.”
