YAVAŞ: “WE TAKE THE PREVENTION OF VIOLENCE AS OUR DUTY”

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş, who made the opening speech of the symposium, said, “Unfortunately, we see the violence on the streets. 'What are you doing?' We have come to an era that he cannot say. Because; Although he is wrong, he always finds an excuse and says, 'What's wrong with you? Will I learn from you?' Responses like these cause the event to escalate," he said.

Drawing attention to the murders of women, Yavaş said:

“We see murders of women on television every day. There must be a reason for that. When we looked at it, we started to have doubts about what our country had become. What kind of person can be so cruel with the education he received or the education he did not receive? This is where the discussion will take place. Our valuable academicians will enlighten you on this issue. Hopefully, if we contribute a little by sharing the presentations and narratives here on social media, we will feel happy in terms of preventing violence. We consider this our duty. I hope that the work to be done will be beneficial, I hope it will lead to beauty and the reduction of violence for our people.”

After his speech, Yavaş thanked Hakan Paksoy, Chairman of the National Thought Center, and Prof. Dr. He presented his plaques to İskender Öksüz.

VIOLENCE EVENTS IN TURKEY AND SOLUTIONS ARE DISCUSSED

At the symposium, where every aspect of violence in Turkey and ways to solve it will be discussed, researchers and academics will also answer the questions asked by the participants one by one. It is aimed to create social awareness with the symposium where presentations and conversations will be made by experts in the field.

Hakan Paksoy, Chairman of the National Thought Center, said that the aim of the symposium is to contribute to the prevention of violence and continued his words as follows:

“After Mansur Bey's nice speech and smiling face, we were also happy. Hopefully, this happiness will spread to our country and we will become a country of happier people. In the face of the social engineering project we face in the 21st century, we become victims of violence with the weakening of identity bonds among the Turkish nation. Otherwise, when people live with their own values, when both their national Turkish identity and their religious Muslim identity come together, they should be much happier, full of love, tolerance and tolerance towards each other. At that time, while the task of academia, local administrations and general administrations was to strengthen this national identity, we live in a situation where Turkey is fighting with this national identity in the administration of Turkey.”

Serkan Yorgancılar, Head of Women and Family Services Department, gave the following information:

“Today, we are organizing the 'Violence and Solutions in Turkey' symposium together with the National Thought Center at the Kuşcagiz Family Life Center. Nearly 50 academics from various parts of Turkey will discuss the violence in Turkey from different dimensions in parallel sessions for two days.”
