Having a say in the public transportation of cities in many countries with its commercial vehicles, Karsan's zero-emission and high-range electric vehicles were exhibited at the Bus2Bus Fair. With its electric development vision, e-Volution, Karsan made a show of strength at Bus2Bus, one of the largest bus fairs in the world, while e-JEST, e-ATAK and e-ATA attracted great interest at the fair. In addition, the participants of the fair had the opportunity to experience Karsan e-ATA 12m for the first time in Germany.
Bus2Bus, one of the world's largest bus fairs, which was held online last year due to the pandemic, physically opened its doors to sector representatives and bus enthusiasts this year. Karsan, one of the leading companies in the Turkish automotive industry, left its mark on the fair organized by Messe Berlin and the German Bus and Bus Operators Association (BDO), which represents approximately 3.000 private bus operators in Germany, with its electrical product range. e-JEST, e-ATAK and e-ATA exhibited by Karsan at the fair met with intense interest. In addition, the participants of the fair had the opportunity to experience Karsan e-ATA 12m for the first time in Germany.
Karsan's electric vision e-Volution
Karsan continues to be Turkey's leading brand offering high-tech mobility solutions, while taking firm steps towards its goal of being among the top 5 players in Europe with its electric development vision, e-Volution. Karsan, the first brand in Europe to offer a product range of all sizes from 6 to 18 meters, is the leader of the electric minibus and midibus market in Europe with e-JEST and e-ATAK. While nearly 90 percent of Turkey's electric minibus and bus exports are carried out by Karsan, Karsan's 306 electric vehicles continue to be a source of pride as they are on the roads of 16 different countries.
e-JEST with its comfort like a passenger car
Proving itself with its high maneuverability and unparalleled passenger comfort, e-JEST can be preferred with a BMW production electric motor producing 170 HP power and 290 Nm torque and also BMW produced 44 and 88 kWh batteries. Offering a range of up to 210 km, the 6-meter small bus shows the best performance in its class, and thanks to the regenerative braking system that provides energy recovery, its batteries can charge itself at a rate of 25 percent. Equipped with a 10,1-inch multimedia touch screen, fully digital instrument cluster, keyless start, USB outputs and optionally providing WI-FI compatible infrastructure, e-JEST does not match the comfort of a passenger car with its 4-wheel independent suspension system.
e-ATAK with a range of 300 km
E-ATAK, which has a dynamic design line with its front and rear faces, draws attention at first glance with its LED daytime running lights. The electric motor working in e-ATAK with a power of 230 kW produces 2.500 Nm of torque, providing its user with a high-performance driving experience. With its 220 kWh battery developed by BMW, e-ATAK in the 8 m class is ahead of its competitors with its 300 km range, and can be charged in 5 hours with alternating current charging units and in 3 hours with fast charging units. Moreover, thanks to the regenerative braking system that provides energy recovery, the batteries can charge themselves up to 25 percent. The model, which offers a passenger capacity of 52 people, has two different seat placement options.
With its powerful engine, e-ATA can cope with all road conditions.
Taking its name from Ata, which means elders of the family in Turkish, e-ATA consists of the largest bus models in Karsan's electric product range. Innately electric e-ATA offers a very flexible structure in many areas from battery technologies to carrying capacity and can respond quickly to needs. The e-ATA model family, which can be preferred with 150 different battery packs from 600 kWh to 7 kWh, offers stop-start when full of passengers on a normal bus route, passenger loading-unloading, 12 meters long distance in real driving conditions without compromising the conditions where the air conditioner works all day. It offers a range of up to 450 kilometers in size. Moreover, with its fast charging technology, it can be charged in 1 to 4 hours depending on the size of the battery pack.
The maximum battery capacity can be increased to 10 kWh for 315 meters, 12 kWh for 450 meters and 18 kWh for the model in the 600 meter class. The electric hub motors of Karsan e-ATA positioned on the wheels provide 10 kW maximum power and 12 Nm torque at 250 and 22.000 meters, allowing e-ATA to climb the steepest slopes without any problems. At 18 meters, the maximum power of 500 kW shows full performance even at full capacity. The e-ATA product range, which fully adapts to the different geographical conditions of different cities in Europe, impresses with its futuristic exterior design. It offers passengers a full low floor in the interior, promising an unobstructed range of motion. Despite its high range, e-ATA does not compromise on passenger capacity. Depending on the preferred battery capacity, e-ATA can carry 10 passengers at 79 meters, over 12 at 89 meters, and over 18 at 135 meters.
