President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan came to Tokat and attended the collective opening ceremony of Tokat Airport and other completed projects in Cumhuriyet Square. Vice President Fuat Oktay, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu, Ministers, General Manager of Highways Abdulkadir Uraloğlu and other officials attended the opening.
Stating that they attach special importance to providing Tokat with the services it deserves, President Erdoğan said, “We did not come to Tokat empty-handed today. On the occasion of our visit, we are making the official opening of hundreds of works and services with an investment value of approximately 5 billion liras in this square today. These investments are worthy of Tokat.” said.
“A modern work that cannot be compared with the old airport”
Expressing that with the technical equipment of the airport, the city will meet the need for air transportation for many years, Erdoğan wished the new airport, which is a modern work that cannot be compared with the old airport, to be beneficial to Tokat and to everyone who will use the airport.
“We continue to take the necessary steps with great determination to carry Turkey to its 2053 and 2071 targets”
Pointing out that the airport is not the only transportation investment they have brought to the city, Erdoğan said:
“Today, we are officially inaugurating the Tokat Ring Road Bridge and Landslide Improvement, Reşadiye Aybastı road, Tokat Sivas road supply, Erbaa Reşadiye road landslide rehabilitation, and the restoration of the historical Hıdırlık Bridge, together with our airport and its junction.”
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Karaismailoğlu said, “As the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, every project we produce; for our nation to increase its comfort and quality of life, to provide new employment opportunities and for the holistic development of our country. We continue to take the necessary steps with great determination to grow our country on the basis of investment, production, export and employment, and to carry Turkey to 2053 and 2071 targets.” used the phrases.
“We have successfully completed many giant transportation projects”
Marmaray, Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge, Osmangazi Bridge, Eurasia Tunnel, Camlica Tower, Istanbul Airport, Filyos Port, High Speed Train Lines, Izmir-Istanbul, Ankara-Niğde and Northern Marmara Motorways and finally the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge. Karaismailoğlu stated that they have completed their work and continued his speech as follows:
“Our country; We have transformed it into an international corridor in every mode of transportation between Asia, Europe, North Africa, the Middle East and the Caucasus and the Northern Black Sea countries. Today, with the New Tokat Airport, we are adding a new one to this huge chain of services and works. We are bringing Tokat New Airport to our country.”
Tokat Airport Junction and Connection Road completed
The Tokat Airport Junction and Connection Road, which was put into service with the collective opening ceremony, was built with a hot bituminous mixture coating. Thanks to the project in the divided road standard, it became easier for citizens to reach the airport.
