Contact Points for Combating Violence Will Increase to 400 by the End of the Year

By the Ministry of Family and Social Services, the number of Contact Points for Combating Violence in Social Service Centers (SHM), which are widely available at district level, will be increased from 377 to 400.

Last year, 2019 thousand women, 256 thousand men and 23 thousand children received services from Violence Prevention and Monitoring Centers (ŞÖNİM), which were opened in every province as of 17, in order to ensure provincial-level coordination in the fight against violence against women.

In ŞÖNİMs, which are non-boarding service units that provide psychosocial support services, mainly referral to women's shelters, monitoring of injunction decisions, guidance and counseling services are provided.

Anti-Violence Contact Point Established in Every Province

"Contact Points for Combating Violence" have also been established in common Social Service Centers in every province at the district level. In this way, protective and preventive services within the scope of combating violence have been made more effective and accessible through these contact points.

There are currently 377 Social Service Centers (SHM) Contact Points for Combating Violence. The ministry will increase the number to 400 by the end of this year.

In this framework, citizens will be served 7/24 with ŞÖNİM, SHM Contact Points for Combating Violence and Women's Guesthouses throughout the country.
